How Do We Help Our Communities?

Philanthropic Activities

D.H. Griffin Companies has a long history of community support. Being a good corporate citizen and giving back to the communities where we live and work is one of our core values and has been part of our culture since our founding.

Each year, D.H. Griffin donates to hundreds of charities in the communities we serve. DHG also raises funds for local charities through its annual Jamestown Civitan - Marylene F. Griffin Memorial Golf Classic, held every spring in Jamestown, N.C.

In addition to these efforts, DHG has proudly raised millions of dollars to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation through the D.H. Griffin Golf Classic. For more than two decades, the tournament has funded research that improves the lives of those living with cystic fibrosis.

Youth Sports

For over 50 years, DHG has supported local athletic programs by sponsoring youth sporting events and teams. Our offices and team members take pride in giving back through these programs.

We believe that encouraging youth participation in sports helps develop leadership, discipline, and teamwork that will serve these young athletes throughout their lives. Our commitment to youth programs reflects our desire to invest not only in projects, but also in people and the communities where we live and work.

Volunteering

D.H. Griffin actively participates in volunteer opportunities alongside our vendors and partners.

Our teams regularly step up to serve where needed. Volunteering allows our employees to make a meaningful impact beyond the worksite, creating positive relationships and fostering a culture of service across our organization. Giving back isn’t just a corporate goal — it’s something our people truly enjoy and believe in.

Community Engagement

We believe that engaging in community events and introducing the next generation to careers in the trades helps promote our industry and provide valuable education. Our team regularly participates in events such as "Touch-a-Truck" and career days at local schools. We also guest lecture at area community colleges for students in mechanical and construction fields.

Diversity in Hiring Events

Diversity in hiring is an important part of maintaining a vibrant company culture. We regularly participate in community hiring events and career readiness programs.

These community events reflect our corporate responsibility and help us connect our demolition, environmental, and infrastructure teams with clients and partners who share our values.
