As president of D.H. Griffin Cos., Griffin leads a company that has handled the site work for the new home of a Toyota lithium battery facility, along with an 825,000-square-foot warehouse for Ecolab. Griffin Cos. is known for its recycling, demolition and construction services, and its role in the region’s economic development ambitions. The son of founder D.H. Griffin, David Griffin runs the handful of companies that are especially well known for their demolition expertise after playing a major role in cleanups of disasters and tragedies such as the recent Hurricane Ian, Hurricane Katrina and the 9/11 attack. But he also represents the Griffin family as a co-owner, alongside Power Player Tim Booras
, of the Chatham-Siler City Advanced Manufacturing Megasite, home to Wolfspeed's $5 billion semiconductor plant.Wolfspeed purchased 445 acres for $15.2 million, but that still leaves 1,300 acres for additional development.
