Dismantling of UNC Charlotte's Iconic Belk Tower

D.H. Griffin Wrecking Company was contracted to provide the dismantling and removal of the 142-foot tall Belk Tower on the UNC Charlotte Campus in Charlotte, North Carolina. The deteriorating structure had made it unsafe for the campus. DHG utilized cranes and man baskets to dismantle and lower the structure to the ground in pieces. The famous ribbed concrete structure was a landmark on this campus and surrounding area for over 45 years.
