Demolition and removal of the 80,000 sf Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Work performed as subcontract to a general contractor joint venture between Turner Construction, Perry-McCall Construction and Northside Construction. Asbestos abatement was performed by inhouse affiliate Demolition & Asbestos Removal Inc.
DHG imploded the stadium with the implosive design by Demolition Dynamics at the time. The implosion was accomplished using a new method known as single shot, which was a series of timed explosions designed to bring the stadium down in smaller sections, creating a domino effect and reducing the impact on surrounding structures.
