Demolition and Removal of the Ford Assembly Plant, Hapeville, Georgia
Under the direction of Jacoby Development, Inc., D.H. Griffin Wrecking Co., Inc.
contracted to perform the removal of hazardous materials and complete demolition and removal of this 2,400,000 sq ft
Ford manufacturing facility near Atlanta, GA. This Brownfields site, located adjacent to
the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, will be redeveloped into a 6.5 million square foot mixed use
development site. This project will involve the environmental cleanup of asbestos, paint solids and spilled fuel.
Demolition activities will generate an estimated 40,000 tons of recycled steel, a million pounds of non-ferrous metals
and an estimated 185,000 tons of concrete to be crushed and recycled. Cleanup work began in May 2008 and will be
complete within 18 months.
Abatement and Demolition of the Ecusta Paper Mill, Brevard, NC
DHG and affiliate Demolition & Asbestos Removal Inc. contracted to provide the environmental cleanup and demolition
of the Ecusta Paper Mill in Brevard, NC. The plants multi-story structure occupies over 2,100,000 sq ft of area on some
527 acres along the Davidson River. The site is being redeveloped under the NC Brownfields Program. as residential and mixed
use with office, retail and commercial development
Abatement & Implosive Demolition of Abandoned Club Med Resort, Hamilton, Bermuda
D.H. Griffin Wrecking contracted by the Bermuda Government, Ministry of Works and Engineering, to provide asbestos abatement,
preparation and implosive demolition of the 310,000 sq ft abandoned Club Med resort in Hamilton, the capital city of Bermuda.
Work began in May 2008 and will be complete with the implosion scheduled for August 25, 2008. The debris removal will be
handled by the Bermuda government.
