D. H. Griffin Contracting was awarded the contract to dismantle this coal fired power house, including coal handling equipment, four hanging boilers, four baghouses, two 40 MW turbine generators and all structural steel from this 88 MW power generating station once owned by R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Co to power their cigarette making operations in Winston-Salem, NC. D.H. Griffin Contracting provided the match-marking and packaging for transport to Guatemala.
In addition to the dismantlement, The DHG Companies provide the associated roof removal, as well as demolition of 60,000 sf administrative buildings, coal storage buildings, cooling towers and (2)-250’ stacks, as well as associated equipment pads, footings and foundation removal.
