Mold Remediation

Common molds found in buildings include Stachybotrys, Aspergillus, Cladosporium and Penicillium, just to name a few. Many types of molds exist and all have the potential to cause health effects. Molds not only affect indoor air quality, but can also produce toxins that can cause serious health risks in both humans and pets. Potential health concerns are an important reason to prevent mold growth and remediate any existing indoor mold growth. Demolition & Asbestos Removal Inc. (DARI) personnel are trained in mold abatement and remediation techniques and have years of experience in abatement of mold in residential and commercial applications.

Mold requires water to grow. Buildings with moisture problems such as empty buildings with uncontrolled humidity or roof leaks are primary mold targets. Changes in building practices in the 70's, 80's and 90's have resulted in tightly sealed buildings without adequate ventilation, which can lead to moisture buildup. Moisture problems can be caused from roof leaks or landscaping or gutters directing water into or under the building, or result from flooding or other natural disasters. Sometimes you can detect the odor of mold, but indoor mold may not always be visible. It is possible the mold may be growing on hidden surfaces, such as the backside of walls. Other places where mold is commonly found is in HVAC systems such as on air ducts, insulation inside air handler covers and on air diffusers in ceilings and walls.

In some cases, a toxic mold contaminated structure must be demolished without the removal of the highly toxic mold. In these cases, the DHG Companies can provide wet demolition methods, coupled with air monitoring and special personnel protective equipment and measures to perform the work without endangering our personnel or the general public.

DARI's trained and experienced crews utilize state of the art materials and equipment to stop and remove mold growth. We have the personnel and resources to handle any size project. Contact the D. H. Griffin Companies office nearest you to discuss your mold project.
